HID lights have a glass chamber of gas that replaces the filament of conventional halogen light bulbs. The gas is ignited with an roughly 23,000 volt charge and stays illuminated by a constant 12v source that’s offered by a ballast which is connected straight to your battery. Remarkably, HID lights are able to offer greater light output with less power intake. Studies demonstrate that a 35 watt HID lamp produces three times as much light in comparison to a 55 watt halogen bulb. Moreover, the 55 watt halogen bulb uses a uninterrupted power draw of 10 15 amps, while the HID system uses 20 amps for starting up, but then drops down to a mere three amps throughout operation (that is up to 80 less power throughout use!). Also to high output and low power handling, the HID headlight gives longer service life. With no filament to shake and exhaustion, under normal driving conditions, HID bulbs last about ten times longer than halogen bulbs. What is the HID Color Temperature? Color Temperature is a measurement in Degrees Kelvin that indicates the hue of a light source, in this case the HID bulb. Color temperature is a feature of light that’s on occasion misunderstood as light, when it is more closely related to cool and warm color tones of light. While cool and warm are words used to describe a light’s temperature, this can be a bit misleading. The term color temperature really mentions the color that’s related with the total of heat required to produce a color in from an ideal black body. Here is a rough guide to Color Temperatures for our HID bulbs. It’s hard to describe HID colors precisely because different people tend to perceive colors somewhat differently. 3000k= Yellow, 4300k= Bright White with a hint of yellow, 6000k= Pure white light (some people detect a slight blue), 8000k= White light with a blue tinge, 10000k= Light blue, 12000k= Deeper Blue, 30000k= Violet/Purple.

After a great deal of research, I came across the Kensun brand. I had read many good reviews and decided that I could take a chance with this kit depending on the reviews that were given.
First things first: these lights are unbelievable. They’re bright, clear and warm up quickly. The light matches all my other LEDS on the front perfectly. The install was comparatively easy and just a matter of taking your time. Think it out ahead of time where you could like to run the wires and so forth, it’ll make the job a breeze. Find a good spot to mount the ballasts (which are small by the way) and secure them with the hardware provided. Everything you’ll need comes with the kit! The low beam light is really lighter than my old Halogen High beams used to be! And the warm up time is as fast as Lexus, BMW, and other OEM headlights. I’m the kind of person that will take two months to purchase a TV as long as I find the best quality at the best price and in my budget. Because of this, I typically never experience purchasers remorse. I can guarantee you that Kensun will stand behind the product they sell.
That brings me to my second point: The buyer service I received from Kensun is really a breath of new air. Not only did they answer many technical questions before I bought them, I then received a follow up call after I installed the kit to be sure that I was happy with my buy. Are you kidding me? Best purchase does not go to this extreme for their customers. That means many to me.
I will gladly give a follow up to this write up as time goes on. I could greatly recommend Kensun HID kits for anybody that was considering upgrading to this kind of lighting. You won’t be disappointed.
The price, the quality, and the great buyer service you get after the sale are what Kensun looks to be all about.

The kit was inside of a nice metal case box complete with information and metal harnesses. There were only two problems that weren’t in depth in the instruction manual:
1 After complete installation, which by the way is easy, I had to make a lateral cut to the stock water protection rubber gasket that covers the light socket. This is caused by the cables being permanently attached to the light bulb that goes inside the socket and through the center of the rubber gasket, preventing the big thick cables to enter the tiny rubber gasket hole. The only solution I came up with was to cut the rubber gasket by the side and put the cables that way ensuring the gasket is put back tightly to prevent water to enter the light bulb socket.
2 In the wiring chart they don’t show the cable polarity with colors or signs. I wrongly expected, like in many Direct Current installations, that Red means + and Black means or ground. WRONG! For this installation it’s the opposite! I found in the included manual that if the lights don’t work the polarity must be reversed and by doing so the lights came on! Just remember to attempt reversing the polarity before you return this item because that may save you time and money.
After these two minor problems were solved, the system works as projected my old 2002 Civic with the most powerful beam of light that competitors any brand new luxury car out there for a tiny fraction of the cost. I’m pleased with this product and it’s a greatly suggested upgrade to any car that still drives with those hard to see stock candle light quality Halogen systems. I had personally spent more than $200 in halogen light bulbs replacements alone. Not any more since HIDs are long lasting!

Installation was a snap, too. One thing that I really like about this light is, Kensun put a little light blocker at the bottom of light bulb to prevent bright HID shooting upwards to annoy other drivers!! (This was only concern that I had when I bought this product I do not want to be pulled over by police..,)
